Turnaround Times

When it comes to turnaround time with carriers, issues are able to be resolved more quickly when you have all of the information ready before it is sent in. Time is often wasted with carriers going back and forth between groups or our team asking for additional information.

To expedite your process, follow these important tips:

·         Claims:
o   Be sure to have your bill and carrier explanation of benefits ready to go. By having all of this information handy, it is easier to figure out where the problem is and contact either the provider or carrier to have the claim reprocessed.
o   If there is paperwork that will need to be completed by your provider, make sure to bring it to your appointment. It is easier to have your physician fill out forms while you are there, and often times, carriers cannot proceed without your provider’s information submitted.
·         Benefits:
o   If you would like to know if a specific procedure is covered, you will need to know what the procedure and diagnosis codes are, which you can find out from your provider. Once you have these, the carrier should be able to give a more complete and accurate answer in regards to your benefits and coverage of the procedure.
·         Enrollment Problems:
o   If you need to send in a change form for enrollment due to qualifying event, it is important to also include any required paperwork proving the qualifying event, such as divorce decree, child support order, adoption papers, or involuntary loss of coverage statement.

Although having everything prepared when you begin an issue does not mean that everything will be resolved quickly, you can ensure that your turnaround time will be lessened by following our helpful tips.
